Who We Are

Dr. Leah Hickson: 

  "I grew up east of Springfield near Walterville and the beautiful McKenzie river.  I went to Thurston High School, LCC, U of O and finally Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha, NE.  From age 15 until I moved to Nebraska, I worked in Eugene as a dental assistant.  After graduating from dental school in 2007, I returned to Eugene to purchase this practice and establish Serenity Dental. 

  My husband, Darren Schelsky and I married in August 2007.  We enjoy spending our down-time relaxing at our Pleasant Hill home with our two dogs."

    "I grew up here in the beautiful Northwest.  Eugene has always been my home.  I graduated from LCC in 2003 with Certification in Dental Assisting.  I have three great children who keep me very busy and always make my life full of adventure.  In my spare time I like to travel, walk, read and enjoy the happiness of spending quality time with my family.

    I'm proud to say that I have been here since the establishment of Serenity Dental and it has been such a joy watching it grow.  I look forward to the opportunity to serve you."

     "I am very fortunate to have a career in dental hygiene, as well as past experience in dental assisting, spanning over 20 years in the Eugene area.  I am proud to be a part of a team which enhances our patient's health through quality dentistry. 

    After growing up in Iowa City, I met and married my husband and moved to Oregon.  Thirty-two years later, with his teaching career behind him, two grown children and one grandson, my husband and I have a lot to be thankful for. 

     When I am not at work, you can find me traveling, riding bike, watching sports, gardening and spending time with my family and friends.  I look forward to meeting you."

     “I am extremly happy to be working with such a wonderful group of women. Being a Eugene native it’s wonderful to be able to work in an envrioment such as this in the town I love, doing what I love. I graduated from Lane Community College this past spring with my Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. Since graduating I have had the priviledge of working with a lot of wonderful people and look forward to meeting the hygiene needs of the Eugene community for years to come!

       When I'm not at work I love spending time with my husband Demian, our 3 boys and my Boston Terrrier: Mr. Monty.”

Our Business

We are a fee for service business.  Please be prepared to meet your financial obligations on the day of service.  If you have insurance, we will gladly submit your claims however, you are responsible for the patient portion at each visit.  Visa and Master Card are accepted for your convenience.  For extensive treatment plans to be completed in phases, we offer Care Credit.  Dr. Hickson is an ODS preferred provider.
